What does the Chiropractor do?

A Chiropractor is an expert for your better health. He searches with his hands for misalignments and movement abnormalities in your spine. Gentle corrections can 're-boot' your nervous system, and over time correct long-held damaging patterns in your body. 

He is interested that your nervous system works better, allowing for more effective and unrestricted communication within your body

Chiropractic stimulates your own natural healing potential, giving your body the strength to heal from within.

This occurs only from the inside out, without medication, injection or operation.

The Chiropractic Adjustment

The chiropractic treatment is known as an Adjustment

The correction is measured in millimetres, and is always performed within what is known as the 'Physiological Joint Space'. This means that the adjustment occurs within the normal movement of the joint, and not in a way that might damage the ligaments, joint capsule or nerves.

The subluxation is not used in the medical sense. An orthopedic subluxation is a stage before dislocation, and as such is not suitable for a chiropractic treatment, nor should it be confused with such. In Germany, most talk of 'Einrenken', which translates to correction of a dislocated joint. 

Professional Chiropractic adjustments should therefore not be confused with other forms of joint manipulative therapy.

Philosophy of Chiropractic

Holistic, vitalistic Chiropractic considers the person as whole. 

The person as a biological organism is the focus, not the list of symptoms (s)he may have.

Symptoms are primarily a signal from the body, that it is not longer able to compensate everything that is being thrown at it. it is a signal that change is essential.

A chiropractor undersands that your body is a self-maintaining, self-regulating, and self-healing organism. The maintenance of this is reliant on 5 pillars of health:

  • Movement
  • Nutrition
  • Health of your spine
  • Stress
  • Regeneration

When any of these fall out of balance, then by defintion your body will stop functioning optimally and will lead ultimately to illness and disease.
