Movement gives Life and Chiropractic gives Movement
What is Chiropractic ?
Chiropractic is the Science, Art and Philosophy of the correction of misalignments of the spine. Chiropractic interests itself in the laws of nature and health. Without unnatural external forces, without medication, injections or other invasive interventions.
Chiropractic is focused on locating misalignements and movement abnormailites in the spine and pelvis.
These frequently occurring misalignments, or Subluxations, can be responsible for weakness, a state of dis-ease to a state of disease, in addition to being painful. They can diminish your quality of life, and left uncorrected, may be responsible for illness and disease.
The underlying cause for these Subluxations lies with chemical, physical or psychological stressors that are either too much, or too little.
Examples include poor posture, work stress with colleagues or bosses, accidents and inuries, poor diet and exposure to environment toxins, one sided sports like tennis etc.
It is usually possible to trace your existing problem back to childhood, and the layers of stress and strain that have been added in the years since.
With the help of Chiropractic, it is possible to locate these Subluxations, and with specific adjustments (a form of manipulation) to correct the problem.
Chiropractic adjustments have been shown to reduce stress in your nervous system by enhancing your brain function. When your brain functions better then so is your body much more able to help itself - from inside out.
As Heilpraktiker / Chiropractor, Craig Osborne and Robert Kastenberger have focused their skills specifically to deliver the best quality chiropractic care they can.
Good to Know
Modern Chiropractic is not Manual Medicine or Mobilisation.
Adjustments are given specifically, & at speed to minimise the force required. Our understanding is that this type of correction provides the most helpful input into your body to creat change. Each adjustment builds on the one before, gradually improving the joint movement, and training the nervous system to hold the joint in this new found state of ease.
Why are they called an Adjustment?
An adjustment is the application of a specific force, in a specific direction, delivered at speed. The adjustment creates a neurological response, or 'Re-boot' improving the communication potential between your brain and your body. The subluxation creates interference in your nervous system, so the removal by an adjustment improves you body's regulatory capacity, something essential for your good health.
Healing comes only from within:
– no medication
– no radiation
– no operation
– no injections
There are approximately 100 different techniques within Chiropractic. This does not mean 100 different ways to adjust a subluxation, rather a myriad of different ways in which the assessment is made to assess what should be adjusted. We apply many of the more traditional methods, some others delve into the emotional basis for your problems, some are very 'energetic' in their approach and others consider chemical causes. We aim to use a small selection to the best of our abilities to best match your needs. For your interest, the following are the main techniques we use:
- Condylar Lift
- Flexion / Distraction
- Upper Cervical Toggle Recoil
